This week has been my first full week home since before Christmas. I'm tired and glad to be home, but the travel was fun. First I spent some time with the family in Pilot Point for the holidays. That's always a blast. All the kids keep it exciting.
On New Year's Day I headed to Dallas for the annual Dallas Winter Conference. This year's conference was excellent as usual. Though numbers were down some from last year, lives were changed. On the day of outreach, the gospel was shared 371 times and 31 new believers were found! On top of that, several students who attended the conference (including one Muslim girl), trusted Christ. Praise God for working in the lives of students!See More Pics (username: DWC2006, password: sent)
Next on the schedule was a trip to Daytona Beach, Florida for another conference. This time I was an attendee for the US Summer Project leader's training. There I was able to meet with other finance folks from around the country to discuss how to better serve and equip our leaders, and how we can better steward the resources involved in these summer trips. I even found out during this conference that I will be helping to lead operationally the new summer project we are having in New Orleans this year(more about that later).
While I was in Florida I got another fun surprise...my sister-in-law was having her baby early! So when I got back to Texas, I went to see my newest niece, Alexa. She's a tiny cutie, and everyone is doing well. This makes #9 for Aunt Trina!
After as short (4 day) hiatus at home, I then headed to Los Angeles to visit a friend (Paul on the left). This wasn't a work trip for a change, so it was all fun. I got to enjoy some nice weather and meet some great people. I got to join the UCLA Campus Crusade staff team for a few meetings, so it was fun to see how the ministry is going in another part of the country, especially at the very campus where it all began!
