Paul grew up in Daly City, California. Trina grew up in Pilot Point, Texas. Both of us were blessed to be raised by Christian parents and learned the truth of God at a young age.
Paul went to UCLA with ambitions to become a doctor. That began to change, however, after experiencing a moment on summer project where God used him to bring truth to a hurting young man. After taking a year off to prep for medical school and a 2 year internship with Cru at UCLA, God convinced him to give up his own aspirations to follow His call.
Trina started her freshman year at TCU with hopes of a fresh start. It was there that she began to truly understand God’s grace. She began to trust God to use her in her weakness and experienced a ton of spiritual growth. She also realized that she didn’t really have a passion for the business world, but for reaching college students.
We met in 2005 at a Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) national staff conference in Colorado. Paul had been serving at UCLA since 2002 and Trina had been serving in the Regional Office in Austin since joining staff in 2001. We married in August 2007 and served together at USC for three years. Now, we both serve with Destino and live in Long Beach, CA. Paul leads the South LA Destino team and Trina works with the Destino National Operations and Leadership Development teams.
