we are hosting a huge outreach event at USC this week. this wednesday night, instead of our usual weekly meeting, we'll be in Bovard Auditorium along with (hopefully) 1200 students for After Dark. this is an event that is put on by Kanakuk Kamps at universities all over the US. this is the first time they've come out to the west coast...they've never been further than Colorado. some of our students got excited about the possibilty of doing this at USC and have been running with it ever since. Cru and many other organizations on campus are coming together to make it happen. we even managed to get funding from the university to cover our expenses...around $3,000!! the event includes 2 musical acts, Jon McLaughlin and Sho Baraka, as well as a dramatic gospel presentation by Joe White (founder of Kanakuk). this has the potential to be an awesome, life-changing event for many students. the goal is that each christian student would invite 5 non-christian friends to pack out the auditorium. however, we don't want it to be just an event. we want this to be just the beginning for students to begin talking to thier friends about spiritual things. we hope that many of these students will have heard the gospel from thier friends before they even come to hear Joe White speak. And we hope that those relationships will continue to deepen and point to Christ.
please pray for us this week. pray that students will come and lives will be changed!
