That's what today consists of...making decisions and getting dental work. I just got home from spending about 3 hours in a dentist chair for the first of a 2 phase (hopefully) process. When I was in jr high, I found out that one of my lower canine teeth had been a little "misplaced" and had to be removed. Since it couldn't be saved, I later got a bridge to cover the gap. Since they apparently only last about 10 years and mine had a "leak" (how the dentist refers to the space at the bottom between the real teeth and the fake), it was time for a replacement. My dentist told me this 6 months ago, and I'm just now getting around to it. It's not a fun process, and not cheap (though I am thankful that insurance is making less than otherwise). As hard as it is to give in and spend the money, it's better than allowing it to keep "leaking" and end up with 3 missing teeth rather than one. Today I just got a temporary fix. 3 weeks from now I get the real thing, barring any mishaps. Next up are those pesky wisdom teeth.
As for the decisions...that has to do with where we're going to live in just a couple of weeks. We've spent the better part of the past week driving all around Long Beach (multiple times) looking at apartments. The market is in our favor right now, with prices down and lots of vacancies. The downside is that the number of options is a little overwhelming. We had to decide yesterday to give up the search and just make a decision. Otherwise, we could go on forever trying to find that perfect place. Now we just have to weigh the options to figure out what is the most important. How much is parking worth? Or storage space? A patio? Aesthetics? I don't even really know how to answer that. We could have it all, but is it worth it? Or should we try to save as much money as possible in the hopes of someday being able to buy a place of our own? Needless to say, I'm torn. I don't expect perfection, and I'm sure I can be happy and make a home of any of the places we've looked at. Decisions just aren't one of my strong suits. But we do need to get an application in during the next day or two, so it has to be done. Pray that it all works out...and that maybe we can even negotiate a better deal! ;) Thanks!
