Sean is new to our team, but not to Destino. He has been serving as part-time staff with the Cru team at Cal Poly Pomona, but his heart and time have been primarily with Destino. As a result, he decided relating with our team might be a better fit for helping him in his ministry. Sean was the reason our team launched a new movement at Cal State San Bernardino (his alma mater) last spring.
Because the CSUSB campus is so far away, we are depending on students to really lead the movement. One of the leaders, Jose, has had a difficult summer and felt very far from God and community. This, and the fact that Sean wouldn’t be there with him, caused some anxiety about having to take charge of Destino. Sean was able to give him some helpful tools for leading, encourage him, and pray with him. Now he and Selene (another student) are both excited to lead. Though neither of them feel equipped to do so, they will be walking in faith. It is a good reminder that God doesn’t need experts, just willingness to follow His call and depend on Him.
