Tomorrow is officially my last day in my current role at the Red River Regional Office, so I have been attempting to wrap things up and prepare to leave. It has been a little bit crazy since we just moved into a new office location last week. It has been quite a drawn out process, and even today things are not yet in order. The cubicles are being wired today, so hopefully we will be able to unpack all of the computers and files and other things tomorrow...just in time for me to finish up. The new building is a wonderful blessing--free of mold, leaks, and rats--and I'm very excited about it, even though I won't be around to enjoy it.
Wednesday I will pack up and drive north to Pilot Point, stopping at DFW to pick up Paul. We will be there for a couple of days working on some wedding stuff before we drive up to Colorado on Sunday. We both start taking some classes at our Institute of Biblical Studies on Monday at Colorado State University. I made some changes in the classes I'm taking so that I will be able to come back to Austin for my friend Melody's wedding in July. I will still be taking Old Testament Survey, but now I've achanged the others to Church History, the Psalms, and a class on the life and ministry of C.S. Lewis (in which we look at how he communicated spiritual truth in both intellectual non-fiction and in story through his fiction books). I'm very excited about what I'm going to be learning, though I know it's going to keep me quite busy. I still have about 30 chapters of Church History to read (hopefully) before I start class next week! Paul and I will also be starting our premarital counseling next week, so we're excited about that.
Here are some things you can be praying for us:
-safe travels (we will be driving about 15 hours straight to Colorado leaving late Saturday/early Sunday).
-productive days getting wedding details accomplished
-that we will have eager hearts and minds to learn what God wants to teach us this summer through our classes
-that our counseling will bring us closer together and prepare us for our life ahead
-that Paul and I would enjoy our time together this summer
