God moving through prayer...

One of the fun things about working with Destino is how connected we all are. Since movements across the region and country are still relatively small, we definitely feel the need for the encouragement we can get from one another. It really is like a big family!  Because of that, we have been fortunate to hear some really great stories of how God is working in places well beyond our scope of ministry.  Since they were encouraging to us, I figure I will share them with you as well from time to time.

Here is one from Dina Martinez, an intern at the University of California-Santa Barbara:

Hey Destino family!
I just wanted to say that I was so blessed to receive this email and i just wanted to share how God has been working these last couple day at UCSB through this fast and how God is moving through it. My prayer is that through this testimony we would see God's presence in the Destino Movement.
There is a girl in our movement that started coming to Destino because the first night we were giving free tacos! she was not a believer, ! but ever since she came the first night, she has not stop coming. further she went to all our event like campus retreat and family times, and in all the gospel was presented but she still was not fully satisfied and did not consider herself Christian. Then she went to DWC and had an experience in which she felt oppressed and one of the students prayed for her and as he was praying her mouth went numb and she hated him for praying. She had never experience that before and so was freaked out and on the plane ride back was really quiet and kind of distant. We were kinda worried that she would just be taken back by the reality of spiritual warfare, but instead she asked that some leaders would pray for her. This Monday as we sat in our core meeting we talked about it and how we felt like we needed to be in prayer for her, as the prayer for her was going to take place the following day. God then remind me about the fast that as Destino staff were doing, so I shared that with them and they all decided that all leaders in Destino would fast Tuesday. After our Destino weekly meeting we hung out with everyone, and then they left and went with her to pray. after sharing the gospel and praying over with her she decided that she understood who God was and decided to give her life to the lord!
I was soo awe struck by how God works in mysterious ways! God showed me that our victory is in him, he fight for us, just like He fought for this girl. I was reminded that Destino is growing through his sovereign power. This is his will, that everyone including latinos come to know who Jesus is, because he loves us. I am Sorry this is long! I hope you are blessed with it, and that encourages you to continue letting God use you to reach latinos!
