Destino Statistic Challenge

“Nationwide across the USCM, 1 in 27 gospel presentations result in someone trusting Christ. For Destino, that number is 1 in 7. On our campus, it’s 1 in 5.”
We mentioned that statistic to some of our key leaders a few weeks ago and they weren’t sure they believed it. They decided to put the stat to the test. Three girls challenged each other to share the gospel five times in one week. If the statistic held true, they expected to see three new believers when they were finished. At the end of the week they met together to share what God had done. Sure enough, they had shared the gospel 15 times. How many people had trusted Christ?
12.
A fellow Destino staff member at Texas A&M recently wrote this in an article about what God is doing in their ministry.  It's an awesome challenge to other staff and students to trust God and step out by faith into what He is already doing.  It was written for staff, so there may be some lingo that doesn't make complete sense, but feel free to ask if you're curious.  It is very encouraging and exciting that we are already a part of something like this.  We hope similar things begin to happen here in Southern California.

Also just got this email from Eric, who wrote the above article.  I thought it was worth sharing.

So, one more illustration of what we're seeing in Destino. Our Destino team at A&M has decided to help out the Destino team at the University of Texas. As part of our new partnership together we sent two of our staff over to Austin today to meet with Ezy and Tiffany, pray together, decode the campus, and hopefully share their faith a little bit.  No sooner had my wife, Kristy, and our new staff, Casey, sat down for lunch that they noticed a Hispanic guy sitting nearby. The struck up conversation, talked about Destino and why they were in Austin for the day. They shared the gospel and the freshman guy trusted Christ.  First student they shared with.  First hour on the campus. A couple hours later, while Kristy and the other staff were still going around campus they got an email from Jim Sautner. The freshman guy had already been to http://destinomovement.com and had contacted Jim about when Destino met on campus. He was excited to get involved. I think God's ready to do stuff all over the country like this if we're ready to join Him.
