Our Summer Plans

This summer we will be traveling both near and far.  On July 6th we will head up to the Pico-Union area of LA, not far from where we used to live, to join a few other Destino staff to kick off the first month-long Destino stateside summer project!  Students will then be joinin us on July 9th and we will wrap it all up on August 10.  We are partnering with Cru Inner City to minister alongside local churches to area children, homeless, and college students.  This will be a faith stretching and rewarding time for us and our Destino students.  Actually, the faith our students is already being stretched quite a bit as they seek to raise the $1500 they need for the project.  Most have never done anything like this, and it can be particularly challenging to raise money in many of thier communities.  Please pray for them and for God's blessing as they follow His call to raise funds for summer project.

We will also being taking a little detour in the middle of project to go to the Cru US Staff Conference in Fort Collins, Colorado.  Fortunately two of our project leaders are part-time staff who aren't required to attend the conference, so they will be there to keep things running smoothly.  From July 12-21, we will be joining staff from all Cru ministries around the country to connect, renew our vision, and be equipped to continue to carry out our calling.  I love Fort Collins (this will be my 7th summer there since joining staff in 2001!) and I'm really looking forward to our time there with the staff family.
