Looking Ahead

Dear Friends and Family,

As I think about my life on staff with Cru and Destino, the last eleven years seem like a blur.  I've learned so much about the Lord, life, and leadership working at UCLA, then USC, then south LA and Orange county with Destino. I've even gotten to lead teams of students and share the Gospel with men and women as far away as Tokyo, Japan.

All of these experiences have made me who I am and I would never have imagined who I'd be today eleven years ago. As with many things that influence us and change us, God has them there for a specific purpose and time, and it has become apparent to me that my time with Cru is coming to an end.

As of February I will be leaving staff with Cru to start my own business in real estate. It is something that has piqued my interest the last couple years and something I feel I would like to attempt. Even as I pursue new things, however, Trina will be staying on staff and continuing in her role with Destino.

For the last several years, Trina has been working for Destino nationwide as the Financial Controller as well as in Leadership Development and Human Resources and she will continue to do so. Her job with Cru and skill set is just as critical to the mission Destino is pursuing and people in her role can be even more difficult to replace than mine. Staff members with her skills in Cru are few and far between.

As Destino seeks to continue it's mission raising up a generation of Latin@s to bring the good news of Jesus to the Campus, the Community, and the World, people in Trina's position play an invaluable role as they support what we do on campus, making sure we have the resources to do all the things we need and want to do.

Obviously, with Trina in her role, I will continue to play a part in what she and Destino are doing. The mission is as critical, if not more so, today than ever. The Latino population on college campuses is exploding and Destino is positioned to have a huge impact on the spiritual lives of this next generation in our country and world.

Your continued prayer and financial support is very appreciated. I will be receiving three months severance pay from Cru as I seek to get things going in my new venture and Trina will continue to receive her normal pay thanks to all of you and your support of the mission of Destino. Thank you for your prayers for Trina and me as we continue to seek to serve this mission, as different as our roles may become.

                                                                                                                                     Sincerely,
                                                                                                                                     Paul
