This Friday and Saturday we gathered 37 students from 30 campuses in Dallas at the Wyndham Anatole to gear up for Dallas Winter Conference. Though it is still 3 months away, the final stages of planning are in high gear. In order for this conference to be a success, we need to get students on board and to the conference to see how God will change thier lives through that week in Dallas. Students are not only the primary target of our mininstry, but they are the primary means by which we accomplish our mission. We need students to reach students. So this is why we asked these 37 students (delegates) to help us think through how we can make this conference better and how they can go back to campus to get their friends excited. The first thing we did with these delegates was to explain the theme and heart behind this year's conference: Sent. The idea is that we have all been called to a mission and sent to the world (wherever that may be). Then we spent much of our time letting the students brainstorm ideas and plan creative promotion strategies. We had the students do a prayer walk around the hotel to really ask God prepare the place and the students for an amazing week of life change. We were also able to give each campus a packet of tools, including some fun videos, to help promote the Dallas Winter Conference. I think they all had a good time and bonded well with each other. Pray that they will continue to be excited about DWC, that many students will attend, and that the rest of the details will come together quickly.
The website will be up soon and registration will begin.
